Our vision for the region is to be the destination of choice for the Great Barrier Reef, home to Australia’s premier turtle encounter as well as Queensland’s world famous food and drink experiences. These are the strategies and plans guiding us to meet our vision.

Bundaberg Region Statistics & Research
The COVID-19 pandemic has had an enormous impact on Australia’s domestic and international tourism market. Reporting has been incredibly challenging, with state and domestic borders closed for long periods and consumer behaviour and demand changing rapidly. From December 2023, international visitors have returned to the Bundaberg Region in large enough numbers to be included in our reporting for the first time sine 2019.
Please be aware that the reporting on total visitor numbers to the region, overnight visitor expenditure and visitor spend provided by Tourism Research Australia is a consistent source of historical information, however BT advises that TRA data included in the documents below from 2021 does not, in our opinion, reflect what is happening in the region, with operators reporting record visitation.
