Sporting events are a major contributor to the tourism economy in Bundaberg, bringing participants, spectators and their entourages into the region who spend money throughout their stay across accommodation, restaurants, cafes and takeaways, petrol stations, grocery stores and retail outlets, as well as our tourism attractions.

Sporting events also raise awareness of our region as an exciting holiday destination, with guests who have had a positive experience in the region returning in the future and promoting the region to their networks.

VISITOR SERVICES

The team at Bundaberg Tourism are always available to provide event support and expert destination advice.

Our Visitor Information Centres (VICs)  in Bundaberg and Childers are often the first point of call for visitors coming into the region, and support community and business events bringing visitors to town through the coordination of accommodation and experience booking services, as well as providing destination collateral to event guests to encourage regional dispersal, increased length of stay and overnight visitor expenditure.

Our Destination Website welcomed over 290,000 unique visitors and our Destination social media reached over 18 million consumers in 2022/23.
