SGBR Shines at ATEC Meeting Place 2024
The Southern Great Barrier Reef (SGBR) was on show at this year’s Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC) Meeting Place, held on the Gold Coast.
Southern Great Barrier Reef was represented to over 130 Inbound Buyers at the 3 day event was in partnership with Tourism and Events Queensland and Destination Gold Coast of the back of state-wide famils for the buyers to immerse in destinations before the important tourism trade event.
Meeting Place is an important event on the tourism trade calendar with not only business to business meetings and networking events but also exhibits important learnings for the inbound tourism industry.
Heron & Wilson Islands, Lady Musgrave Experience and RTO representatives Loni Hammond and Eloise Chaffers proudly represented the destination across a full day of face-to-face appointments, engaging industry breakout sessions and networking with key international distribution partners to discuss opportunities to further showcase the SGBR to international markets.
The final day hosted an inspiring conference program with keynote speakers sharing insights and trends shaping the tourism sector. Their attendance at ATEC highlights the SGBR partnership’s dedication to fostering connections and enhancing visibility for this iconic destination among global audiences.

Bundaberg Tourism and our regional operators hosted 3 Inbound agents in Queensland for Meeting Place event from Thursday 24 – Sunday 27 October. The famil was made possible with support from TEQ.
