Tourism is the engine room of the Bundaberg region’s economy

Each year, thousands of visitors from around the state, nation, and globe flock to our region to experience the marvel of nature at Mon Repos, the Southern Great Barrier Reef on our doorstep, savour our iconic brands and feast on our fresh farm-grown produce.

Visitors equate to revenue for local businesses, who in turn employ our family and friends, from accommodation and restaurants to shops and tour operators.

A healthy tourism economy is self-generating, positioning advocacy bodies with the leverage needed to advocate for improved social infrastructure and services for our community.

Bundaberg Tourism plays a central role in this ecosystem - operating as one of Queensland's designated Regional Tourism Organisations, recognised by Tourism and Events Queensland.

It is the principal agency responsible for destination marketing, enhancing visitor experiences, and supporting the business community that provide visitor services, Bundaberg Tourism’s primary mandate is to stimulate visitation to the region and foster a robust and sustainable regional tourism economy.

Bundaberg Tourism plays a role that no others are able to do, bringing together industry, community and all three levels of Government at a destination level to champion a positive future for the Bundaberg region.

Although not among the largest destinations, Bundaberg Tourism relies heavily on the support of all businesses across our region to amplify its presence effectively.

You may have noticed the prominence of destinations like Cairns and the Gold Coast in marketing tourism for their respective destinations.

The influence of Regional Tourism Organisations hinges significantly on contributions from industry stakeholders and a region’s business membership engagement.

For Bundaberg Tourism, membership dollars are essential. They enable us to continue promoting the Bundaberg region and supporting the business community. This in turn, drives more business through the doors of small businesses, building a stronger and more resilient economy for the Bundaberg region.

Bundaberg Tourism members are key stakeholders and contributors to how we do business, and they have a voice to influence economic, cultural, social and environmental outcomes for the broader region.

Now more than ever, community support is vital. The opportunities presented by global tourism markets mean that the Bundaberg region has a real opportunity to rise to new heights.

But we can’t do it alone.

We need your help to promote the region, stimulate job creation, support local businesses and continue to advocate sustainably for an enhanced quality of life for our region.

Your support is an investment in the future of the Bundaberg region.

Join us in helping shape our region’s future.
