2024 BULLDOGS ANNOUNCE ROUND 24 TICKETS AND EXCITING $50K ‘KICK FOR CASH’ COMPETITION

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are counting down the days until they return to the Bundaberg Region to face the Dolphins in the NRL Telstra Premiership Round 24 clash. With just under 8 weeks to go until the two teams descend on Bundaberg’s Salter Oval for the premier match, the Bulldogs have landed in Bundaberg to today announce the ticket release date and a brand new, exciting offer for Queensland residents who attend.

The August 17 match is to be played at Bundaberg’s Salter Oval and will mark just the third NRL fixture to come to the Bundaberg region with the support of the Bulldogs and Bundaberg Regional Council. The match will not only offer traveling rugby league fans and locals alike access to thrilling first-grade action in the region but will also give Queenslanders the chance to kick for up to $50,000.00 on match day.

Bulldogs CEO Aaron Warburton, Director Andrew Gifford along with current players Ryan Sutton, Karl Oloapu, and alumni Luke Goodwin, joined Queensland officials today in Bundaberg under the iconic palm trees of Surfriders Point to unveil this exciting initiative and announce the ticket release.

The CEO announced that tickets will be on sale to the public as soon as next week, set to launch online at Ticketek from Wednesday the 3rd of July 2024. While general public will have to wait up to a week for their chance to secure their seats, the Bulldogs were thrilled to add that ticketing is already available publicly via a number of Bulldogs Membership options starting from as low as $85.00 for new adult members and $30.00 for existing Bulldogs members who wish to add the Bundaberg fixture to their existing package. Beyond several exclusive benefits, the Bulldogs membership not only includes early access to ticketing and preferred seating options for the game as available now but also offers access to a Member’s only Captain’s Run meet and greet event with the team at Salter Oval before the match.

The highlight of the upcoming event, the ‘Kick for Cash’ competition, will be exclusively open to Bulldogs Members attending the Round 24 clash, giving them even more reason to sharpen up their kicking skills and get along to the game. The competition will see a winner(s) drawn to get on-field at halftime during the match with a chance to complete kicks across 10m, 20m, 30m, 40m, and 50m kicking stations, choosing to ‘boot it’ and kick for cash milestones or simply ‘bank it’ and pick up anywhere from a $500.00 consolation prize to the full $50k along the way. The kicker will be cheered on by an anticipated crowd of over 6,000 people, and with significant interest looming around the event, kick before a likely sold-out crowd for the Saturday afternoon major event.

Tourism and Sport Minister, Michael Healy expressed excitement about hosting such a major sporting event in Bundaberg, emphasising the region’s appeal as an ideal travel destination: "Together with the Bulldogs and Bundaberg Regional Council, we’re thrilled to bring this world-class NRL event to Bundaberg," Tourism and Sport Minister, Michael Healy said. "This is an incredible opportunity for fans to enjoy top-tier rugby league in the natural beauty of Bundy. Visitors can explore the region’s local attractions and attend a great sporting spectacle."

Bundaberg Tourism CEO Katherine Reid discussed the opportunity the game gives Bundaberg to showcase the destination on across Australia and especially in the key visitor markets for the region of South East Queensland and Sydney.  "The Bulldogs and Dolphins Clubs have over 50,000 members and 1 million social media followers between them, and Dolphins games attracted an average of 520,000 free-to-air viewers watching each game in 2023, with Foxtel and Kayo pushing up these numbers further," said Ms Reid.

"Thanks to the teams, we are showcasing the destination as an exciting and vibrant destination to visit."

She also highlighted the benefits of the game to the regional visitor economy, stating: "36% of the people who attend the 2023 game between the Bulldogs and the Dolphins in Bundaberg were visitors from across the nation, injecting over estimated $1million in visitor expenditure and generating an estimated 4,700 nights in the region."

To participate in the Bulldogs Bundaberg ‘Kick for Cash’ competition, Queensland residents and fans must purchase or upgrade their Bulldogs Membership to include the Bundaberg add-on or a ticket to the event.
