Bundaberg Tourism Trade Activity Update

Tourism trade is playing a vital role in the Bundaberg visitor economy, with operators recommitting to the tourism distribution system by developing pricing structures. Many new products are also taking up trade mentoring to ensure they are ready for distribution in the coming months.

We have seen wholesalers, like The Leisure Group and Ignite Travel who have traditionally sold overseas programs become key partners in distributing the destinations product around Queensland and Australia.

Providing agents with destination experience

We were lucky enough to have 2 retail travel agents, 1 from Queensland Rail Travel and 1 from Mobile Travel Agents in region in September. The agents were able to experience firsthand our key tourism trade products and hero destination experiences thanks to the generosity of our operators who offered industry rates, FOC (Free of Charge) or and gave the agents their time to introduce their products. These types of agent famils gives exposure to the destination and allows agents to gain a better understand of the region's tourism trade offering.

Bundy Icons Tour

We are pleased to have the Bundy Icons Ticket available for booking on the Bundaberg Region Website. Combining Bundaberg Rum Visitor Experience, The Bundaberg Barrell and Hinkler Hall of Aviation, this ticket creates a half-day tour for visitors.

New Product:

We are pleased to add the Fairymead House to our destination trade product offering. We are also looking forward to welcoming The Bundaberg Barrel, BIG4 Breeze Bargara and BIG4 Breeze Cania Gorge to the destination offering when they complete their trade mentoring in the coming weeks

The Bundaberg Barrel is now bookable through Bundaberg Tourism Visitor Information Centres and on the Bundaberg Tourism Website through Bookeasy.

TEQ Incentive Program:

TEQ launched a major tourism campaign designed to encourage Queenslanders to explore world-class tourism experiences across our home state – the ‘Great Queensland Getaway’.
The campaign aimed to drive immediate bookings for tourism operators around the state by offering incentives to Queenslanders to make holiday bookings.
The incentives include:

  • Promo codes offering up to 50 per cent discount on tourism experiences (up to $100 including GST).
  • Major incentives on flight and bus travel and accommodation packages.
