What's New in Bundaberg Southern Great Barrier Reef

There’s a fresh energy across Bundaberg, Southern Great Barrier Reef, with new experiences and visitor offerings bringing even more reasons to visit. Here’s a quick look at what’s new across the region.

Reef Sanctuary
The Reef Sanctuary Pontoon is a purpose-built eco-education pontoon resting beside Lady Musgrave Island, offering both day-trippers and overnight guests of Lady Musgrave Experience an unrivalled opportunity to dive deeper into the reef - not just as visitors, but as active participants in its conservation.

Designed with sustainability at its core, the Reef Sanctuary Pontoon was refurbished using local expertise and eco-friendly materials. And like its side-by-side sibling, Lady Musgrave HQ, its zero-carbon footprint runs entirely on solar and wind power. With three custom-built levels serving as a hub for important marine research, citizen science, and hands-on learning.
