48 Hours in the Secluded Woodgate Beach

Imagine it's Friday night, you've finished a hard week of late nights, strict deadlines and troublesome kids who seem even more restless than usual. You need a break, you need seclusion. Woodgate Beach offers 16km of pristine white sand beaches, calm blue waters and that quiet, peaceful seaside town vibe. Why not leave the kids with your parents, or treat your partner with a relaxing weekend away?

Check-In

Whether you're looking for that seaside getaway, or a budget camping spot, Woodgate Beach has you covered. The main strip of street follows the coastline offering stunning ocean views to wake up to from all properties, no matter your price range.

Try: Enjoy panoramic views in your own private beachfront house from Woodgate Beach First National Real Estate or set up camp just 50m from the ocean at NRMA Woodgate Beach Holiday Park.

Surfs' SUP Saturday

We're not talking about shredding up the waves like you would at Neilson's Beach, but something a little more relaxing, slow paced and a whole lot picturesque.

Try: Spend your morning learning to stand-up paddle board from Woodgate Beach Toys then go out on your own in the calm clear waters and, if you're lucky, you may even see a whale or a dolphin.

Once you have finished your paddle boarding session it's time for some lunch as you rest and recharge for your next activity. Woodgate Beach is surrounded by Burrum National Park offering great birdwatching, hidden and boarded walking tracks and 4WD tracks with beach access.

Try: For something easy-going try the Burrum National Park Banksia Boardwalk, an 800m return wheelchair accessible walk through the cool trees.

Finish off your day with a glass of wine and a cheese platter as you watch the sun go down over the water from your private balcony, or from your camp chair on the beach.

Sun and Sand Sunday

Sleep in and wake up to the sound of waves lapping the beach. Grab you togs and that favourite sundress and stroll on down for brunch by the ocean to kick start your day.

Try: Treat yourself and grab the Canadian pancakes with crispy bacon and maple syrup from Serenity Cove Café and a cappuccino for that caffeine hit.

Walk off breakfast on the untouched white sand as you take in the panoramic views of this stunning coastal town. Go for a dip in the refreshing waters, grab a kayak for a paddle or read that book you've been meaning to read all year as you soak up that gorgeous sunshine.

Try: Before you head home grab a bite to eat at the Woodgate Club's 'C'Breeze Restaurant', we recommend the salt and pepper squid with lemon and aioli, or be a little naughty and try the 'Beaches Café's' Macca Mango gourmet ice-cream sundae.

Finish off your holiday with a game of barefoot bowls at Woodgate Club and embrace your competitive side... that's if you can keep your eyes off the stunning ocean views!
