What better way to explore the coastline of the Southern Great Barrier Reef than exploring the picturesque beaches of Bargara and the Coral Coast by Stand-Up Paddle Board (SUP). Grab your SUP, and head to Elliott Heads, Theodolite Creek or the Causeway at Kellys Beach for some adventure on the water as you surround yourself with effervescent water, idyllic white sandy beaches and scenic views. Relax as you travel down Theodolite Creek, soak up some sun paddling down the mouth of the Elliott River, and learn how to SUP at the Causeway at Kellys Beach. KAYAKING OASIS

Take a more scenic paddle down Theodolite Creek and Elliott River by kayak and bask in the scenic surrounds as you explore these vibrant coastal waterways, keeping your eyes peeled for the various wildlife flying above. If you’re looking for a place to cast the line out put the kayak in at Lake Monduran and try your luck fishing for local Bass and Barramundi.

Drop into Nielson Beach and carve up at this local point break. This regularly patrolled beach offers surfing conditions for beginners and those more advanced. Be sure to check local weather conditions before diving into this barrel haven.

Elliott Heads is renowned for being a kite surfers haven with its consistent sea breezes and shallow tides. Whether your catching some waves off Elliott Heads Beach or catching the wind at the mouth of the Elliott River, it’s no wonder enthusiasts flock to this piece of paradise. Journey further north to Burnett Heads or south to Theodolite Creek, both popular hot-spots where river meets the sea and transforms into a kite surfers playground.

SKI YOUR WAY DOWNSTREAM

Put the boat in at Sandy Hook and strap on the water skis as you cruise down the Burnett River. Protected by the towering walls of the river, this peaceful getaway is a prime water-skiing location. Venture further north to Lake Monduran where you will find another water-skiing hotspot with smooth still conditions and inviting waters waiting to be rippled.
