20 Things to Do in the Bundaberg Region Under $20

If you're like me and are terrible at saving, but want to atleast look like you're having a go, try these activities around Bundy that won't break the bank! 20 things to do in Bundy under $20: 

1. Take the Bundaberg Rum Museum Experience, spend half-an-hour or two hours, and soak up the rich history of our world-famous rum. Price includes two tastings from the extensive Bundaberg Rum range!


2. Experience the magic of watching a new generation of endangered loggerhead turtles emerge at Mon Repos (November – March annually).


3. Hit the beach, any one of them, and work up an appetite! A serve of locally caught reef fish and chips will leave you with plenty of money to buy a locally-made gelato in the afternoon.

4. Visit Amandine Lavender farm for free and browse through the gift shop for local artisan gifts or try the lavender fudge and chocolate!

5. Hire a bike from Bargara Beach Caravan Park for half the day.

 

6. Buy or hire a snorkel and experience some of the Southern Great Barrier Reef as you explore the Coral Coast dive sites just metres from the shore.

7. Choose a lane down at Bundy Bowl and Leisure Centre.

8. Take in a movie at the historic Moncrieff Entertainment Centre, and fill up on popcorn and pop culture.

9. Enjoy breakfast at our stunning cafes.

10. Drop into Cha Cha Chocolate for all things sweet. 

 

11. Fly into the Hinkler Hall of Aviation and be surprised by Bundaberg's aviation pioneer, Bert Hinkler.

12. All aboard the Botanic Gardens Steam Train! Take a tour of the Gardens on a converted cane train.

13. Grab a pizza and head to Alexandra Park and Bundaberg Zoo with the kids, free entry!

14. Pick some fresh strawberries at one of the many strawberry farms, or stop at the various farm gates to buy some of the cheapest and freshest food you'll eat.


15. Visit Ohana Cider House & Tropical Winery and try six of their delicious drinks with the Epic Tasting Paddle. 

16. Explore the wineries of Childers, and sample award winning wines and exotic fruit liqueurs.

17. Drop into the Barrel at Bundaberg Brewed Drinks, taste the range and pick up a mixed six pack (or two!).

 

18. Reward your savings with a coffee and hand-crafted cake from one of the many high quality local cafes.

19. Go shopping! $20 goes a long way in supporting local businesses, and Bundaberg is full of local boutiques and family enterprises!

20. Take a walk through the Bundaberg CBD or through Childers and explore the incredible heritage buildings we are so proud of!
