EXPLORE THE SOUTHERN GREAT BARRIER REEF

Add more turtle to your summer and continue creating memories to last a lifetime on a day trip to the Southern Great Barrier Reef. With a short 25min flight from Bundaberg Airport, you can arrive at Lady Elliot Island or depart by boat from Bundaberg Port Marina with Lady Musgrave Experience to reach Lady Musgrave Island. COME SEE THE TURTLES

Bundaberg is home to the largest turtle rookery in the South Pacific. Each year, people from across the globe visit Bundaberg to witness a miracle on a ranger-guided Mon Repos Nightly Turtle Encounter. From November to January, watch mother turtles haul themselves up sandy dunes to nest their clutches of up to 150 eggs, before returning some weeks later to continue this circle of life journey. Visit from late-January to late-March and marvel under the moon-lit sky as baby turtles erupt from their nests and journey to the sea. An experience unlike any other, the Mon Repos Turtle Encounter is a must while visiting this UCI Cycle Fest International.
