Kelly's Beach Resort's (KBR) Licensed Restaurant has been operating for over 15 years priding themselves in giving their guests a meal to remember and ensuring everyone feels welcome and comfortable. This Winterfeast the family run restaurant and bar releases it's new 'eat local' menu showcasing an abundance of fresh, incredible produce, including Dave Galati's beans, at an intimate three-course dinner.

KBR Restaurant believes that good, fresh, tasty produce makes for a good time with family and friends – and so did Ross Galati. Ross Galati is the founder of the Rosengal Group, a family farm operating in Bundaberg, Bairnsdale, Victoria and Melbourne. The Galati's farming story begun amongst the mad rush of the Christmas holiday season when Ross found himself amiss of any fresh, local beans to adorn his table for family celebrations. The idea to grow his own came fast but the demand from locals was there and he began to sell them to local families in town planning their own holiday celebrations. Having made more in 2 weeks selling beans than he had in 6 months of their family-run café, he got hooked and knew he was on to a winner.

These days Ross's son Dave Galati and his wife Meg run the Bundaberg arm of the farm growing year-round beans including green, flat, butter (yellow), borlotti and peas, all hand-picked. Dave's farming focus is, first and foremost, taste. Using some unusual techniques like the not-so-soothing sounds of David Guetta and focusing on soil health Dave works day-in-day-out following the lifecycle of his plants to ensure the perfect crop. While he spends weeks slaving over the beans we take minutes to gobble down, taste perfectionist Dave wouldn't have it any other way and has more than his fair share of loyal customers who couldn't agree more.
