Wander through towering paperbark trees as you look out for wildlife and take in the sights along the way. For avid bird watchers, be sure to bring your binoculars and take the stunning Bird Hide walk through coastal plains and tea-tree wetlands.
Dinner’s up
Finish the first day of your getaway with a barbecue at your peaceful safari tent. Your own private outdoor area means you and your partner can take in the clear starry sky over a glass of bubbly, just on your own.
DAY 2
Wake up to the sounds of the ocean crashing and birds chirping in the distance for your second day in paradise.

A short 30 minute drive from Woodgate Beach you’ll discover Childers, a town in the hinterlands surrounded by rolling hills and sweeping views.
Take time to stroll through the old-worldly main street of Childers. Laced with mason buildings, most of which are heritage-listed, you’ll truly feel as though you’ve been transported back in time. Discover the medicinal marvels and unique specimens at The Old Pharmacy and be in awe of the talented local artists at the Childers Art Space. If you’re feeling peckish, stop by the Paragon Theater, a restored 1800s movie theatre, for one of the mouthwatering ice creams from Mammino Gourmet Ice Cream.
Food, glorious food
You’re sure to build up an appetite from your morning exploring this breathtaking hinterland town. In the heart of Childers is Insane Caffeine, a quirky café filled with greenery. From spiced pumpkin soup to crispy buttermilk chicken, visiting this popular lunch spot is a must-do for all foodies and the perfect place to take in the town’s atmosphere.
Make grape decisions
Tick wine o’clock off your bucket list and meet the passionate makers at the wineries throughout Childers. Take the drive to Hill of Promise, a local winery full of Sicilian heritage. Creating award-winning flavours filled with hints of rose petals, dark chocolate and berries, choosing which drinks to take back to your safari tent will be the hardest (and tastiest) part.
Just when you think the deliciousness is over, stop into Vintner’s Secret Vineyard, a winery perched on top of a hill and encompassed by their lush vineyards. Hear stories of winemaking from Ed and Marianne and learn why their wines are so special. Thanks to their expansive surrounds, it’s a beautiful spot for an afternoon picnic before heading back to Woodgate Beach.
DAY 3
It’s your last day at this peaceful paradise before making your way home, so you better make it count.
Untouched oasis
Calling all 4wders, Burrum Coast National Park is for you. With natural beauty stretching for kilometers, this is a place you can easily spend your whole day. Drive the tracks of the national park, filled with aromatic native flowers and greenery, and explore the hidden gems. If driving on the beach is your favourite, get up close to the coastline by taking one of the tracks leading to the water. Be sure to bring your umbrella, camping chairs and a picnic lunch for the ultimate last day.
