Open year-round, discover where great care begins and how we can all make a difference, with the day time experiences at Mon Repos Turtle Centre, such as Turtle Tales or a Guided Ranger Walk through the conservation park. Combine coffee and culture with brunch in the Milbi Cafe at Mon Repos, before browsing the gift shop and art gallery filled with pieces from local indigenous artists.

From November through to January, it is an amazing sight to see these huge creatures heaving their way up the beach to find a safe spot to dig a nest and lay their eggs. And then, some 6-8 weeks later (generally between January to March), you can witness the tiny hatchlings emerging from their sandy nests to scurry down the beach towards the sea.

If you would like to arrange transportation on the night of your Turtle Encounter, the Bundaberg Shuttle Service can offer return transfers. To arrange this service please call their friendly team on 0421 413 446.

More people visit Mon Repos each year to watch nesting turtles and emerging turtle hatchlings. Turtles are easily disturbed if correct turtle watching guidelines are not followed. Parks Rangers and volunteers have the right to refuse entry or escort visitors if needed from the facility.

Ranger guided encounters operate seven nights a week from November to March, excluding 24th, 25th and 31st December.
Nesting turtles are best viewed after dark, from November to January and Turtle hatchlings are best viewed at night from January to March.

Please be aware that turtles are wild marine animals and we cannot guarantee you will see either nesting turtles or hatchlings, on occasional evenings turtles do not arrive.
